Every act on every level counts! #LetsUnite #EndVAW #16DaysSG
You might wonder after #MeToo, #NowWhat?
Through the recent viral online movement, #MeToo, thousands of women around the world and in Singapore have been coming forward to have open and honest conversations about their experiences of surviving sexual violence. The movement has not only brought to light the grave reality of how common sexual violence is in Singapore, but also the silence surrounding the issue. At the end of the day, a hashtag can only go so far: the onus lies on us to take action every day.
We Can! Singapore invites you to be a part Let’s Unite! – a 16 Days of Activism campaign* – to stand in solidarity to end violence against women or anyone who identifies as such in a significant way. Take action between 25th Nov – 10th Dec 2017 so we can galvanise everyone’s efforts, show how much we care to prevent such violence and are ready to take active steps to build a community of support.
If you start saying ‘violence against women happens in Singapore’,
→ Others will say it too
→ More people will be aware
→ Perpetrators’ behaviours will not be excused
→ More victims will speak up
→ Organisations will make more effort
→ Government will do more
→ Violence against women will not happen in Singapore
Show that you want to end violence against women. Show what you are already doing to end that. Show that you care. Show that every act on every level counts! Do it anonymously or proudly show it off!

*16 Days of Activism is a global campaign that calls on individuals, groups and organisations to stand together against violence against women (VAW) by pledging their support and taking action from 25 November, the International Day of Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day.
